Review of Undress Me (2012 Film):

“Ta av mig” or “Undress me” is a Swedish 15-minute short film from 2012, so it will have its 5th anniversary last year. The director is Victor Lindgren (his first work) and he also co-wrote the script together with Jana Bringlöv Ekspong. She plays one of the two main characters and the other is portrayed by Björn Elgerd. This film is as short as it is explicit, but this should not be a surprise to anybody who knows that the short film genre is very popular when it comes to LBGT films. Here we have the story of a woman who was a man before her operation and she is on a date with a guy who knows about her past and is genuinely curious about who he is going out with. But is it just curiosity or also attraction? Maybe something in-between? Decide for yourself. I personally would say this film is better than the generally low level of movie making when it comes to LBGT-themed short films, but it’s still not a good watch really as the story and the characters did not really feel memorable to me. This is a film that is only relevant to people in the same situation like the characters, but everybody else will not make a connection here. I give it a thumbs-down and I think if anybody from the people working on this (luckily) short film want to have a big breakthrough outside of Sweden too, then they need to improve their game
